“Come On”, the single April 13 release in Ireland & April 30 in the UK.

The ‘Come On’ music video has been doing a tremendous ambassadorial job for the single and has just won the Best Music Video at Los Angeles Film And Script Festival 2012. This week in London, alongside being chosen as a Sundance London Short Film Competition contendor, the video will be screened at The London International Film Festival, April 18th 6:30pm at The Roxy in SE1. The Come On music video has also been added to Q Introduces playlist on Q TV and taken on by Soundnet, content providers for over 15,000 public venues, pubs, clubs, cafes and retail stores in the UK.

Preachers Son recently played a very successful industry showcase in London. As a result the single has received its first plays on BBC Radio 2 together with invitations to play BBC Radio and regional radio sessions.

‘Come On’, the first single from forthcoming album “10 Stories Tall”, was launched in Dublin last Friday April 13th. Leading Irish music magazine Hot Press reviewed the single as “a terrific, sub-three minute rocker with no let-up from beginning to end. Come On sounds like the result of a three-way collaboration between Jack White, the late Phil Lynott and (I’m not kidding here) ’70s glamsters, The Sweet”. Here at home RTÉ 2fm’s Dave Fanning has given the single several spins to date.

On the forthcoming album ’10 Stories Tall’ guests include: SJ Wai from the Dirty Epics, Richie Buckley, Kenny Wollesen (Tom Waits, Sean Lennon), Tabby Callaghan and Rori Coleman. The album was produced and recorded by three time Grammy Award Winner Marc Urselli (Lou Reed, Les Paul).

F*CK YOUR HONDA CIVIC AND YOUR HORSE OUTSIDE, THE RUBBERBANDITS’ NEW FAVOURITE PASTIME IS ‘SHIFTING GIRLS’

The Rubberbandits have just released their brand new single ” I Like To Shift Girls”. The duo launched their video exclusive on RTE’s Republic of Telly on 06th March 2012. The single has already received significant hype and it’s Youtube views are vastly catching up with their debut hit “Horse Outside”.

2010 saw the duo release their debut single “Horse Outside” which nearly knocked the X Factor single of it’s top spot.

2011 the Bandits won an IFTA, filmed their unique guide to NYC for MTV and starred in their own three part mini series of Channel 4, Online Comedy Blaps.

In 2012 the dynamic hip hop due have taken it upon themselves to campaign for safe sex in the 21st Century.

Like Bono and Geldof before them, The Rubberbandits have decided to put their new found fame to good use by using their influential lyrics to educate their fans on the practice of safe sex and the benefits of celibacy in a medium that their audience can connect with. Their motives and the benefits are interesting to say the least, and may cause extreme blushing!

The video was directed by Republic of Telly’s Jason Butler, shot on location in Dublin with an all Irish cast. Released just before the Bandits head to New York for a sold out show in The Mercury Lounge this Saturday. Our globe trotting duo then shoot back to Ireland for Patrick’s Weekend Shows in Wexford and Castlebar before heading to Canada on the 24th of March to headline a show at Canadian music week finishing out the month with a sold out show at Kings College in London on March 30th.

The single to “I Like to Shift Girls” is from the album “Serious About Men” and is available to buy in stores and via itunes now.

Channel 4 Announces First Ever Commission > From Online Comedy Blaps

Irish comedy duo Rubberbandits and Sideline Productions have secured a broadcast pilot on the back of their success as part of Channel 4’s new online talent platform, Comedy Blaps.

It’s the first ever Channel 4 commission to come from the online showcase which began last November as a grassroots initiative to help develop new programme ideas and discover the next big thing in British comedy.

They will now make a 30 minute pilot which will be broadcast as part of the 4funnies series on Channel 4 later this year.

Produced by Dublin-based Sideline Productions, Rubberbandits was a three part online comedy and music series written and performed by Mr Chrome and Blindboy Boatclub aka The Rubberbandits.

Commissioning Editor Fiona McDermott said: “We always hoped that Comedy Blaps would provide the perfect stepping stone for inspiring new talent to find their feet and hone their craft and that’s exactly what’s happened with the Rubberbandits. They are a truly original comedy duo, with an ever growing fan base. The pilot promises to deliver even more of their musical genius and absurd characters. Aside from that we’re just thrilled we’ve given them the chance to showcase even more supermarket carrier bags on their faces.”

Sideline’s Creative Director Billy McGrath will exec the new project. He said: “Sideline is looking forward once again to working with the Channel 4 comedy team to bring this exciting Irish talent on to a higher level. We all share the strong belief there is something very unique and special going on with The Rubberbandits.”

Channel 4 has plans to increase the number of ideas that will be selected to appear as Comedy Blaps across the year which will then be available to view on Channel4.com, YouTube and Vimeo with a new episode from each series uploaded each week. Comedy Blaps are also promoted via ComedyOn4 using Facebook and Twitter.

Channel 4 Multiplatform Commissioning Editor Jody Smith said: “It’s thrilling how from that first short season of Blaps, we’ve already found an idea that we’re moving to TV. We’re putting even more emphasis on Blaps in 2012, with plans to commission more than double that of last year, with a season in the summer and again in the autumn.”
